Qualifications: |
| |
| Applicant must have or be able to
acquire a South Dakota licensure to provide occupational
therapy services. |

| Skills and knowledge
beneficial to the position include: |
| |

| 1. Exposure and knowledge in the
field of occupational therapy |
| 2. Sensory Integration certification
preferred, but not required |
| 3. Neuro-developmental Treatment
certification preferred, but not required |
| |
| |
| Job Objectives: |
| |
To provide comprehensive occupational
therapy services for individuals birth through twenty-two
as determined by an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)
or Individual Education Plan (IEP). |
| |
| Specific Duties Include: |
| |
1. Be a participant on a child's
multi-disciplinary team if requested by school |
| 2. Conduct occupational therapy
evaluations when determined appropriate by multi-disciplinary
team |
| 3. Prepare written reports based
on evaluation data |
| 4. Participate in IFSP or IEP meetings
to review reports and assist in program development, goals
|
| |
and objectives when appropriate |
| 5. Prepare goals and objectives
designed to meet the needs of children |
| 6. Develop a schedule
for provision of services to meet the needs of students
in a participating school |
| 7. Document/Log student services
as provided |
| 8. Coordinate with other professionals
to address the specific needs of a child |
| 9. Provide assistance, guidance
and possible training to teachers and parents |
| 10. Provide required reports based
upon school, student and organization needs. |
| 11. Responsible for professional
growth pertaining to duties, certification and/or licensure |
| 12. Perform other duties that are
pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of
the school(s) |
